Mountain Stomp

Quiet, on the wind, looses sound
only when it chooses
and the mountains, perched on spring
release rocks and boulders --
the resolve of stasis crumbling
to appease gravity's pleas --
yet the mountains, immobile, still possessing
the power of motion
shudder from contact
the weight of matter
into the chaos of descent.

Tumbling angles fall
open new holes.
